Wow, what a year 2020 was, let's hope we are now seeing the back end of Covid and the light at the end of the tunnel is now shinning big and bright.
Here at Colehurst Lake we decided to improve our stock by introducing some very nice mirror carp from VS Fisheries.
VS Fisheries was recommended to us by one of very regular fisherman, Si; great looking fish, very friendly and very helpful were the words he used to described the company. He wasn't wrong.
Having never ordered new fish stock before, it seemed all a little bit daunting. Viv, in charge of VS Fisheries, made ordering our new fish very simple. He gave us lots of fantastic advice, he was very friendly and understanding to our needs and level of expertise.
We ordered 28 new fish and on a cold snowy morning in January we took delivery of our new fish ranging from around 2lb to a new lake record of 11lb 80z. The fish we took delivery of were stunning and we are so excited to watch some of the smaller ones grow it big monsters.
In order to make our new beautiful fish and existing stock into bigger fish we will be feeding them pellets from, another company who was recommended to us, BP Milling. Last week we took delivery of 250kg of pellets and we have now started feeding the fish on a regular basis.
These pellets will also be available to purchase from us as 1kg and 3kg bags to help enhance your chances of catching our stunning fish.
Hopefully, exciting news, in the next few weeks will take stock of several more mirrors and we hope the lake record to be once again, spectacularly, broken so watch this space.
