WHAT PEOPLE SAY
Justin Copestake - Summer 2021
What a wonderful, relaxing time we had during our stay in the Woodland Retreat at Colehurst Lake. Nick and Holly were fantastic hosts! We were immediately welcomed by Nick who gave us a tour of this quirky little site. Nothing was any trouble and they made sure we had everything we needed.
The Woodland Retreat had everything we needed for our stay. The kitchen area was fully equipped, there were logs supplied for the wood burner (a must for the campfire toasted marshmallows!). There were lots of lovely little touches including candles and flowers at the outside seating area.
Our breakfast hamper was filled with essential, locally sourced produce. Everything was delicious!
The quirky shower shack with compost toilet were only a short walk from our camping area. No smells and always clean.
Myself, my partner and our two girls had a lovely, peaceful few nights away. Stunning views of the fishing lake with woodland walks galore! The playground area was a bonus!
Thank you to Nick and Holly for our fantastic stay. Highly recommend this hidden gem.

This is, without doubt, our new favourite place. Holly, Nick and family gave us such a warm welcome.
We stayed at The Treehouse, surrounded by wild bluebells, the stream and beautiful woodland.
Everything we could possibly need was already set up. The lovely touches like candles, lights and the logs to sit on around the campfire, made our stay so special.
We received a beautiful basket of fresh produce for breakfast and ate whilst watching tree creepers feed their babies.
The bird song all around is just beautiful along with Mr and Mrs goose on the lake with their goslings. Our boy had a wild weekend, loving the bugs, the birds, the fishing, the marshmallows around the fire with friends old and new.
We have never seen such a beautifully built shower and composting toilet! Every pitch had it's own special features, so cleverly designed and built. A fabulous woodland retreat for a family who love the magic things in life. We can't reccomend highly enough! We have left for home with a feeling of contentment that's hard to put into words.

"We had a fab chilled 3 nights stay at Colehurst on the campervan pitch. Our view over looking the lake was amazing. Holly & Nick were very friendly hosts, and their daughter Rosina was lovely too. It was nice to sit and relax next to the fire pit with the view of the lake at night. The Hubby enjoyed the fishing and was very happy he caught a couple of carp. The shower shack was different, but was very good and cleaned regularly. We shall definitely return at some point."
