How many does it sleep?

Woodpecker's Retreat sleeps a family of up to 5 in a tipi tent with two double beds and one single bed.  However, we'd recommend 4 people to give more space for your things (three beds take up most of the tipi tent).

What equipment does it have? 

Woodpecker's Retreat is equipped with everything you could possible need! Cooking equipment & utensils, crockery & cutlery, sharp knives and chopping boards, wine glasses, cups, tea towels, matches, and a little undercover kitchen shack complete with gas BBQ & camping stove, cooking oil, tea/coffee & sugar.

What more could you need? 

Oh yes - your campfire!  The tent comes with an outside log burner on the decking area and a sack of kiln-dried logs (from local HETAS accredited business Logalog) to ensure a low smoke, perfect campfire experience for each night of your stay.  Additional bags are available for £16.50 per bag payable cash during your stay.

Is Fishing available?

Fishing isn't just available, it is included in the price!  Complimentary use of pegs 4 and 5 on Colehurst Carp Lake (which are in front of the tent) are included with each night's stay (max 2 anglers at any time).  However, you must adhere to our fishing rules and ensure everyone has a valid fishing licence.  Please let us know at the time of booking if you will be fishing.  Site map on fishing page here.

Are there any facilities nearby?

There is no electricity and no water on this pitch - it is back to basics!  However, the shower shack (which also has an outside sink for washing dishes) is a short walk away.

 

We also have a sociable area with small shelter, comfy seats and games that anyone is able to use during the daytime only.  This area is not permitted to be used in the evenings & is reserved for any special events.
