pre-erected tents

After the initial success of our only pre-erected tent, we have expanded the range!

These 'ready made' tents allow you to experience camping at its best, without having to buy and bring all of the gear - then set it all up!  Each tent comes with everything you could need for an off grid camping trip.  The only thing you need to bring is bedding, towels and food/drinks.

What do they come with?

Drawers of cooking equipment & utensils, crockery & cutlery, sharp knives and chopping boards, salt & pepper, wine glasses, cups, tea towels, napkins, matches, and a little undercover kitchen shack complete with gas BBQ & camping stove, cooking oil, tea/coffee & sugar.

What more could you need?

Oh yes - your campfire!  Each tent comes with a campfire or burner with a sack of kiln-dried logs (from local HETAS accredited business Logalog) to ensure a low smoke, perfect campfire experience for each night of your stay.  More bags can be purchased on site.

Breakfast bundle

On top of all of that, we include the most amazing breakfast bundle of local produce from local suppliers (this is usually bacon, eggs, milk & bread and feeds approximately 4 people).  Additional bundles can be purchased for larger groups or longer stays at a supplement of £10.00.

Our family tent sleep 4-6 people, over two sleeping compartments with double air beds and also the double air sofa bed in the living space.  So we'd recommend 4 people, but can fit up to 6 using the living space too.

The beauty of this tent is that it has a large living space, so if the glorious British weather turns to rain, you still have plenty of space to shelter, eat and relax.

This tent is in a lovely spot, backing on to the next door farmer's field and overlooking Maylea Pool, it faces the evening sun as it sets behind the trees.

The Pool is frequently visited by the Heron and Kingfisher and is home to several moorhens.

A designated fishing spot comes with this tent on the smaller Maylea Pool for one angler only. Additional anglers are charged a discounted rate of £10 per day and may fish as much as they wish that day.  (24hr fishing is usually £25)

There is a little compost toilet nearby and the shower shack is just a very short walk away too (in the middle of the site).

tree tent

Now this tent is a little bit different!  A super comfy hammock style tent suspended from the trees - a super adventure for you and your family.  The tent has 3 sleeping sections, so is ideal for a family or 3, or 4 (with two small children).  The maximum weight capacity is 400kg.

The tent is accessed from a series of elevated decking areas, with great views across the fields and down into the stream.  This is a perfect place for bird watching - use the binoculars and write down what you see in our bird watching book! We often see the kingfisher, woodpecker, mistle and song thrushes and 'Bazza' the buzzard from the location.

The top deck is partially undercover and includes the kitchen shack with tea, coffee & sugar, mugs, camping kettle & stove and small seating area.  The lower deck has a picnic bench and gas BBQ.

A designated fishing spot comes with this tent on the smaller Maylea Pool for one angler only. Additional anglers are charged a discounted rate of £10 per day and may fish as much as they wish that day.  (24hr fishing is usually £25)

The tree tent does not have electricity or water at the pitch, but the shower shack is just a very short walk away, which also has an outside washing up area with hot and cold running water.

All pre-erected tents are £99 per night, minimum stay of two nights.

Dogs - £5 per stay.  We allow well behaved dogs on leads on site, but not in the pre-erected tents - however, we are happy for you to put up a small pup tent next door if you wish!

Electricity - £5 per day (only available at the family air tent)

Extra Logs - £3.50 per sack.

Additional breakfast bundle - £10.00 per bundle.

We ask for a non-refundable 15% deposit to secure the dates, then the balance is due 48hrs before arrival.  We have a 48hr cancellation policy.

Please contact us for availability and to book.

other information

Please remember we are a small and rustic site.  We have a new Shower Shack, purpose built by Nick for the 2020 season, which includes a large shower and compost toilet which is located in the middle of the site.  We also have one other compost toilet next to Maylea Pool.

  • You may arrive onsite from 2pm, but please advise us of your expected arrival time.

  • You must have vacated the pitch by 11am on the day of your departure, but are welcome to stay onsite to continue fishing if you have purchased a fishing ticket, or just to enjoy the site before you leave, but you must have vacated the pitch area so we can clean and prepare for our next visitors.

  • Cars must remain on the car park at all times.  Under no circumstances are vehicles allowed on the bank of the lake.

  • We have wheelbarrows available for you to transport your things to the pitch, but if you need any help, please advise your expected time of arrival, so we can be on hand to help move heavy items in our mower trailer.

  • If fishing - you must adhere to our fishing rules and never leave children unsupervised for their safety and the health of our fish!

  • Campfires are included, but we reserve the right to prohibit fires in certain weather conditions for safety reasons.  You must act responsibly when having a campfire and never leave the fire unattended, nor leave children alone by the fire without supervision.  We have fire buckets around the site (and a lake full of water!) to extinguish your fire as required.

  • Please collect up all of your rubbish and use the rubbish bins on the car park as appropriate, do not litter the site, nor burn any rubbish on your campfire!  Recycle where possible please.

  • We are family friendly but the site has many natural hazards so please beware of these.  Children must be accompanied and supervised at all times.

  • We are a small and quiet site and wish for it to stay this way!  We want you to enjoy your time here, but the lake, owners and other campers must be respected at all times, please keep noise down to a minimum and ensure children remain supervised at all times.

  • There is strictly no admittance to the private bank of the lake, where the owners live.

  • Dogs must be kept on leads at all times.  This is a very important rule and is there to protect the livestock in surrounding fields and for the safety of other campers.  If you do not adhere to this rule, we reserve the right to ask you to leave the site.

  • If you are booking the pre-erected tent, please note that dogs are NOT allowed inside the pre-erected tent – they can either sleep outside, or you may put up a small doggy tent next to our tent. If you do not adhere to this rule, we reserve the right to ask you to leave the site.

  • If staying in one of our tents, please take care of it and our other equipment – any damages may need to be charged to you.

  • If the ponies are in the paddock, you may go to see them, but DO NOT enter the field, and DO NOT feed them.
